VP 013Hussar "Hungarian horseman"
In the last period of gingerbread production Hussar became a symbol in the craft of gingerbread-baking. In the eye of countryfolk hussar was seen as a free man not having to work in the field and having the possibility to get to know the world while being in troops. Usually given to young boys as a reminder of a fair or as a Christmas gift. On the other hand girls were given gingerbread hearts or swaddled babies.
